The Classic CDJ - Pioneer CDJ 1000

As an old school DJ type, I can tell you that DJ equipment has come a long way since the early days of vinyl records and turntables. From the rise of digital music to the introduction of software-based DJing, the industry has seen massive changes. But one product that has truly stood the test of time is the Pioneer CDJ 1000, a classic piece of DJ equipment that still holds its own today as cracking second hand buy.

The thing is, if your like me you’ll spend hours each week aimlessly looking through Facebook Market Place, Reverb and Ebay looking for bargains. In reality, there are tonnes of them. If your open to broadening your horizons a little bit, an amazing DJ set up doesn’t have to cost the earth. A coupe of basement bargains found in the right places and you could be sitting on great fun alternative to the usual Pioneer DJ Controller or Denon Prime’s latest bit of kit.

That’s the raison d’etre of this series, Shed DJ Tech Of The Week. To dig up those classic old gems and rejuvenate them. The idea with the Pioneer CDJ1000 is that with two of these and a classic two channel mixer along with some software control CDs you could have a great digital set up. Buy the hardware then buy say some Serato control CDs and put Serato with it’s DVS expansion pack on a laptop and your away.

So, with that in mind let’s have a look at the Pioneer CDJ 1000.
